Alexa, Polly wants some ice cream

Rocco, an African grey parrot has been using the Alexa virtual assistant to order treats and toys, his owner said. Marion Wischnewski, who works at the National Animal Welfare Trust sanctuary in Berkshire, said she brought Rocco to live in her home in Oxfordshire when officials became concerned about the bird’s use of profanity in front of visitors. Wishnewski said that she was surprised to look at her Amazon shopping list and stumble across a number of items she certainly didn’t order. Funny enough, Rocco had attempted to purchase quite a few snacks, including strawberries and ice cream.

A man went to an auction of a closing pet store. He started to bid for a nice looking parrot. Each time he bid someone would raise him $5. Finally at $200 the auctioneer’s gavel struck and he called out “Sold”. The buyer went to the shop owner and asked if the parrot could talk. The shop owner told him, “Who do you think was bidding against you for the last 20 minutes?”

A Frenchman but walks into a bar with a parrot on the shoulder. The bartender says, “Hey, that’s neat, where did you get that?” The parrot says, “France, They’ve got millions of them over there.”

One day at the animal hospital where I work, an owner brought in an African gray parrot to have its peak and wings trimmed. The owner warned that the bird disliked these procedures was apt to bite. I heeded the warning and cautiously opened the cage. The parrot stepped out and looking up at me, said, “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you.”
