A D.C. woman who bought a scratch-off lottery ticket for the first time in Maryland. The 39-year-old woman had tried scratch-off tickets she received as gifts before, but the $100,000 Crossword ticket she bought was the first she had ever purchased for herself. “To be honest, I didn’t know what to buy or even how to play,” the woman recalled. “My dad said to get the crossword game to enhance my spelling.” She scratched off the ticket and wasn’t sure so she asked her father to look at the ticket the next day. The winner said she plans to use her winnings to give back to the community.
Interviewer: “Congratulations on winning the $1 billion dollar Powerball lottery.”
Farmer: “Thank you.”
Interviewer: “Do you have any special plans for spending all of that money?”
Farmer: “Nope. Not really. I’m just going to buy some more farmland and keep farming until the lottery money is all gone.”
What’s the difference between a man arguing with his wife and a man with a lottery ticket? The man with a lottery ticket actually has a chance to win.

“What would you buy if you won the lottery?” asked my girlfriend.
