Tis better to give than receive

Would you believe an appeals court ruled a Michigan woman who won a $30 million lottery jackpot while in the midst of divorce proceedings must split the money with her ex,? The Michigan appeals court said Mary Beth Zelasko has to share the $30 million she won from a Mega Millions drawing in 2013 with Rich Zelasko. The couple were in divorce proceedings at the time of the lottery win, but the divorce wasn’t finalized until 2018. Arbitrator John Mills earlier ruled the ticket was marital property, because the divorce had not been finalized. The appeals court upheld Mills’ decision.

The Divorce Mediator: “Mr. Clark, I have reviewed this case very carefully,” the Judge said, “And I’ve decided to give your wife $775 a week.”
“That’s very fair, your honor,” the husband said. “And every now and then I’ll try to send her a few bucks myself.”

Marriage is the process of finding out what kind of man your wife would have preferred.
