A Ride to Remember

A Ride to Remember

“The Vomatron” is a massive propeller ride with seats on each end that rotates riders at speeds more than 74 mph. The best part? It also spins in reverse and puts 4 G’s of force onto passengers who want a thrilling amusement experience. Until it runs out of power… then it stops. If you are on it, you stop too, 55 feet in the air. The chances of having a ladder that tall are slim. The fire department came out eventually and used their hydraulic bucket to get the person our of the car and down safely. Ladder 1 was put to good use by firefighters & we are happy to report the rider, though shaken, is fine.

Toward the end of their senior year in high school, students were required to take a CPR course. The classes used the well known mannequin victim, Rescue Annie, to practice. Rescue Annie was legless to allow for storage in a carrying case. The class went off in groups to practice. As instructed, one of the students gently shook the doll and asked, “Are you all right?” He then put his ear over the mannequin’s mouth to listen for breathing. Suddenly, the student turned to the instructor and exclaimed, “She says she can’t feel her legs!”

A woman was telling friends how first eight classes had prepared him for an emergency. “I saw woman hit by a car, he said she had a broken arm, a twisted knee and a skull fracture.” “How horrible. What did you do?” “Thanks to my first aid training I knew just how to handle it. I sat on the curb and put my head between my knees to keep from fainting.”

I adopted a pet rock from the rescue shelter…
They told me he’s had a hard life.
