Minnesota’s Usain Bolt
Minnesota’s Usain Bolt
9-year-old Kade Lovell of St. Cloud took a wrong turn during a 5k race. He was expecting to run the 5K version of the St. Francis Franny Flyer, but he missed his turn and ended up finishing first in the 10K version (6.2 miles) of the race, beating a field of competitors. The average age of runners in the race was 38, and the second place finisher, a 40-year-old man, finished a full minute behind Lovell. “At the end where you had to turn around there’s a 10k sign, I was like, Ah Oh! This is not a 5k. I was like, my mom is going to yell at me.”
“I’m thinking of running a marathon again.” I told my friend.
“You’ve run a marathon before?” she asked, with an air of admiration.
I said, “No, but I’ve thought about it.”
I‘ve decided to run a marathon for charity. I didn’t want to do it at first, but apparently it’s for blind and disabled kids so I think I’ve got a good chance of winning.
I treat everyday like I’m running a marathon tomorrow…
I rest and load up on carbs.
Training for a marathon can be hard work
But it’ll be good for you in the long run.
