Fake News Anchor
The Xinhua News Agency has added a twist: China’s state-run network has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) anchor. “English AI Anchor” debuted Thursday at the World Internet Conference. Modeled on the agency’s star presenter, the new robot anchor learns from live videos and is able to work 24 hours a day, reporting via social media and the Xinhua website. ”She (it) learns from live broadcasting videos and can read text as naturally as a professional news anchor,” the company said. The robots signoff: “Before we go, I’d like to send my good wishes to all of the journalists across the country. As an AI anchor under development I know there is a lot for me to improve,” she said.
I had a terrible dream of a dystopian future where robots controlled every aspect of our lives. Luckily, I was awakened by my Tesla.
Why did the robot deny having a brother?
Because he had trans-sisters
Isn’t it kind of patronizing
that a computer asks you to prove you’re not a robot…
If robots can’t identify stop signs or traffic lights in captcha images…
maybe self-driving cars are a bad idea.
