Swiss twins skating record

What began as a casual pastime for twin sisters Naemi and Alena Stump has since evolved into something much more significant, as the Stump twins have set two world records on a “U” shaped “vert” ramp 12 feet 9 inches high. Now 14 years old, the sisters first discovered their love for skating at the age of eight when they were searching for a shared hobby. When asked about the secret behind their extraordinary performances, the sisters explained: “You should know each other so well that you know what the other person is doing without having to communicate. The one who is better at the trick adapts to the other.” The Stump sisters may make synchronized inline skating look effortless, but their journey to success has been anything but easy. As the girls themselves admit, mastering their routines requires an immense amount of practice and dedication. “We practice a lot to do the tricks at the same speed and the same height,” they shared. In fact, they once believed holding a world record was out of reach. Alena’s journey has been particularly challenging as, at just two years old, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which left her with persistent headaches and memory problems. Struggling with her memory made it even more difficult to synchronize complex routines. “Alena kept forgetting the order of the tricks,” Naemi explained. To overcome this, they practiced their routine together for weeks, allowing Alena to fully memorize the sequence of movements.

The video below shows world record was nothing short of nerve-wracking: “We were very nervous because we were afraid that we wouldn’t make it. At the same time, we were overjoyed that we’d been given the opportunity to set a world record!” What made the experience easier was the overwhelming support they received from their loved ones. After the event, they cooked dinner for everyone who had helped them reach their goal: “That way we could thank them and celebrate together.” When asked how they felt about their incredible achievements, they reflected on the surreal experience. “It still feels very unreal to have two records. We are very happy about it.”

The girls are not only record-breaking inline skaters but also multi-talented athletes who enjoy a variety of sports. When it comes to ice hockey, the twins are seasoned pros. When they were five, they joined a local ice hockey club and went on to compete in both national and international tournaments! The Stump sisters wanted to offer some words of inspiration: “Dare to do something that you think is impossible. Never give up and always try to better yourself.”

Don’t say anything. Just get out of the way.

The inline speedskater was trying to pick up a coed at a fraternity party when she told him that she was much more turned on by academic types than dumb-skaters.  “So,” she said, “What is your G.P.A.?” The speed skater smiled, puffed up his chest and said, “I get about twenty-five in the city and forty on the highway!”

What do you call a chicken on rollerblades?
Poultry in motion.
