No more free stuff, please!
Terry Miller has a nice house in a nice neighborhood outside Detroit. He has friends and some people know him, but he is confused about some people that do not know him who keep sending him presents. Yes, he is a good guy, but he is getting nervous about the payback. Terry explains: I started getting packages I did not order from amazon. It was all good stuff and it was addressed correctly to me, but I did not order it and most of it I did not even want. I checked with Amazon and they said all the information is correct and that there were no charges to me, but the packages kept on coming. Finally, I asked the sheriff to open the packages because I did not want there to be any backlash that I had anything to do with this stuff. They said it is yours for free, just keep it. I don’t want to use most of the stuff, it was mostly cellphone accessories, so I gave a bunch of it away. There was only one thing sent to me I might have used, a set of ear buds, but they were pink and I did not think they would go with my gym outfit.
Imagine seeing Amazon packages start to pile up by your neighbor’s front door, then take over their front yard.
That’s what’s happening in one neighborhood near Chattanooga, TN. The neighbors drove this story to the TV news as the cardboard boxes pile up in the front and side yard of this house daily and no one is taking them away. Police said there is nothing they can do as no law has been broken. Nearly every day the Amazon truck drops several packages and has even dropped a skid load at a time. According to the reporter covering the story, the homeowner said their friend had a contract with a seller in China. When that friend’s contract expires, she’ll send the packages to their warehouse in China. “For those who have no idea, these are items that were sold to customers in the USA, but the orders were cancelled or returned for some reason. The seller’s manufacturer is in China and it cost too much to send it back. So they pay someone a few thousand bucks, to receive all of these rejects. This house is serving as the ‘warehouse in USA’ but really is just a person with an extra lot. They are supposed to pay someone to repack the packages, then send it to amazon warehouse to be sold back again.” Several of the viewers asked how they could get this deal.
