Sydney Sweeney ‘Hurting’ Women’s Sports
Sydney Sweeney is standing by her controversial, racy sports ad for the prediction market company Novig. “I don’t like to just put my face on something,” she said to Complex magazine. “I really want to be able to get into the weeds of it with an amazing team. And I got to meet the Novig team. Jacob’s incredible, and I believed in him as a founder.” The company is standing by it, too. “Sydney is great at captivating audiences and being the center of attention,” But some female athletes are not happy. Women’s boxer Skye Nicholson called out Sweeney on social media, accusing her of “hurting” women’s sports and female athletes. “Giving the ad campaign exactly what they wanted, but honestly these companies need to do better. Stop sexualizing women in sport,” she shared on Instagram. Australian Olympian Ariarne Titmus, a four-time gold medalist, also called out Sweeney online. “I can’t describe how infuriated I feel when I watch this,” she wrote on Instagram. “Not only is it a kick in the face to every woman who has dedicated her life to perfecting her craft, but every woman who enjoys sports for what it really is – teamwork, friendship, dedication, excellence, unity. “How do we live in a world where monetizing a woman’s body and sexualizing women’s sport is still a thing?”

In the US, people that used a GLP-1 medication like Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro, more patients are likely to display these unusual patterns on their PET-CT scans. That’s especially concerning because cancer rates in the US are rising and early detection is crucial for successful treatment. Right now doctors don’t recommend patients stop taking GLP-1 medications before undergoing PET-CT scans. Instead, they suggest imaging teams carefully document their patients’ medication histories to help doctors interpret their scans.
