Frustrating failure to Suckcess

Alastair Cass, who runs UK Restoration, was at his 150-acre property on Saturday. He had just finished watching Arsenal play Brighton and left the TV screen to step outside to cool off as he’d “had enough” following his team had losing again and he had to vent his anger. “I was standing on the front grass when I heard it. I was like, ‘What was that?’ Every now and then I can hear kids playing and shouting so I just ignored it. But as I walked over to one of my barns, I heard the same noise again. I knew something was up so I jumped on my ATV and headed down to the river.”

As Alastair continued to travel towards the river he more clearly started to hear a female voice crying “Help! I drove further down the bank of the river where there was a ford I could get across. I kept yelling back at her to call out so I couldn’t find her straight away.” Alastair found the “shivering” woman stuck in mud up to her chest at the bottom of a drainage ditch. “The mud was so deep and so soft, I would also sink into it too. So I told her I would right back. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I then raced back to the quad and rode it up the field to get some rope and some plywood so I could spread my weight across the mud and pull her out.” Alastair tried his best to rescue the woman out of the mud, but the suction was too strong. He dashed back to the house and called the emergency services.

“First on the scene was Chulmleigh fire brigade followed by every other unit you could imagine. Specialist teams, boat rescue service, four ambulance crews, South Molton police, helicopters you name it they all showed up.” Alastair then supported the rescue mission by taking each crew member down to the ditch while helping carry their equipment. The rescue took around two hours and Alastair said the woman was released from hospital at 4am the next morning. As a thank you to Alastair, the woman, who lives in London visited him a few days after and presented him with a card expressing her gratitude.

Stranded

My friend keeps saying, “Cheer up man it could be worse, you could be stuck underground in a hole full of water.”
I know he means well…

Yesterday and today I stuck my hand inside feather pillows.
Is it normal that I’m feeling down?

I stuck pins in a voodoo doll of my arch enemy.
I managed to cure his backache and help him quit smoking.

I was stranded on an island with nothing but dark red grass, dark red sand, dark red trees everything was dark red.
“AHHH!” I yelled, “I’ve been marooned!”
