* At a department store, a small boy was standing at the foot of the down escalator, staring intently at the moving hand rail. “Is there something wrong, little fellow” asked the manager as he walked by. “No, sir”, the boy said.” I am waiting for my bubblegum to come back.”

Robert Fulton pioneered and developed the first steam boat. A the time many critics were saying it cannot be done, steam would never make a boat go. When he had his first public demonstration his critics were in the crowd and yelled “See that, he can’t get her started” as the boat sat motionless in the Hudson river putting out smoke. Then the captain opened the valve to start the paddle wheel and the boat moved down the river. After a couple of minutes of the demonstration that critics began to yell “see that he can’t stop her.”
