Holiday Celebrations

His honor, the mayor of Galatone, Spain was out walking the town last week outside the old city wall. He came upon the city’s Nativity scene and he was transfixed because he said the figures inside the stable were so lifelike. He made a mental note to congratulate the group that put the display together. Then, it moved. The not-so-wise man that was seen standing in the background of the festive scene with his arms held aloft, trying to imitate the life-size statues alongside him could not keep his arms up. Then the mayor also noticed the less-than convincing scheme showed him wearing a winter coat entirely different to those of the statues. It turned out that one of the shepherds was actually a wanted man, a 38-year-old Ghanaian migrant, who was fleeing from the cops after allegedly assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.

The poser had been previously sentenced to nine and a half months in prison by a court in Bologna before escaping. He tried to hide in the nativity scene in the small town of Galatone  while on the lam. His honor alerted the Galatone police and that shepherd was corralled. “Thanks to the quick intervention of our Local Police, State Police and Carabinieri, it was possible to track down and identify a person who was [a wanted fugitive]. A result that confirms, once again, how fundamental it is to place full confidence in the day-to-day work of those who guarantee safety and legality. “A sincere thank you to all the women and men who guard our territory with competence, attention and dedication,” the mayor said. The unidentified migrant was quickly arrested and has since been remanded in custody in the nearby city of Lecce, where he will serve out the rest of his sentence.

While in Florida

Christmas festivities took a bizarre turn in one of South Florida’s most exclusive neighborhoods, Golden Beach, when police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Ocean Boulevard just before 9:45 p.m. following reports of a “naked white male” on the premises of an empty house. Upon arrival, investigators found Vladimir Demidovich, a 26-year-old from Hallandale Beach, naked in the house. Police report Vlad was hiding inside the garage of a residence valued at approximately $12 million. Upon questioning the man who appeared to have drunk quite a bit, explained his clothes were in the house next door that he had explored earlier in the evening.

According to the Golden Beach Police both burglaries happened in the 100 block of Ocean Boulevard, about 600 feet from the police station. The report states that when officers went to that home they “found the house disturbed, drinks consumed and clothing on the second floor.” Cops determined that Demidovich “consumed beverages” inside both houses “and demonstrated intent to commit theft” and arrested him on two burglary charges. Court records show Demidovich was out on felony bond at the time of his arrest, stemming from a pending criminal mischief case out of Sunny Isles Beach from June 5.

Burglars: Clothing optional

The police station was burglarized. The burglars stole the toilet seat.
Police have nothing to go on.

An idiot has a mirror in his closet. He wakes up one night and opens the closet and he sees himself. Scared, he quickly calls the cops.
“Police! There’s a burglar in my closet, come quickly!”
A police man arrives at the idiot’s house and opens the closet and finds the mirror. He takes a step back and slaps the idiot as hard as he can.
“Why did you call me when you already had a policeman inside?!”

West London police wish to alert local residents about the infamous cross-eyed burglar.
“If you see this man staring in your windows, warn the people next door.”
