The fastest 9 holes ever

Most people think of a golf cart as a lazy way to spend Saturday afternoon instead of walking around a golf course. The cart also provides cold beverages and food if you pack it. What red blooded American male would let this staid vehicle just be a moseying beast of burden? You know it has to go faster, in fact now golf carts are going faster that sports cars. Recent footage has been popping up all over the web of golf cart drag racing – a surprising showdown between beefed up golf carts facing off against cars like Scion TCs and even Corvettes. And what’s even more surprising about these races is that sometimes the golf carts win! The world’s fastest golf cart drag racing record has been set at an astounding 118.76 mph! With so much power in such a small package, it’s no wonder the fans love it.

Golf cart drag racing has just started growing in popularity in the early 2000s. Spectators were first drawn to the sport because of the counterintuitive prospect of seeing such a traditionally underpowered vehicle challenging full blown automobiles. As the industry and the mechanical techniques advanced, though, companies like Plum Quick Motors began building carts that were deceptively formidable opponents.  Plum Quick offers high-performance electric motors for golf carts, and to prove what these machines can do, they launch them down the drag strip. At a recent return to Darlington, the company blasted through its old record by hitting over 118 mph… with clubs strapped to the back, no less. There’s a video clip below of one of the company’s vehicles drag racing a Ford Mustang, and the cart sounds like a dentist’s drill. Robby Steen who previously set the Guinness World Record in 2014, said he will attempt the record again on Wednesday, and this time he expects to increase the record to faster than 150 mph.

Take a Cart

Many golfers prefer a cart instead of a caddy because a cart cannot count, criticize, or laugh!

I shot three under at golf today.
One under a tree, one under a bush, and one under the water.

A player asked his golf coach: “What is going wrong with my game?”
The coach replied, “You’re standing too close to the ball after you’ve hit it.”

I wish I could play my normal golf game…Just once!
