Rented thrills on LA hills:
The most fun on a roller coaster is going over the big hill. If you are a Gen Z child the bigger thrill is to go over the big hill as fast as you can driving a car: “Making your car fly.” This experience has become a social media competition especially on the big hill at Baxter and Alvarado streets in Los Angeles. Of course you just can’t make your car fly, it has to be witnessed and recorded by your posse to be really famous. In the video below you will see a black Tesla “fly” at around midnight through a bunch of groupies armed with cellphones to immortalize the event. While the ride is truly impressive, the next step made it newsworthy.
An unknow driver “flew” a rented Tesla up one side of the Baxter Road hill and over Alvarado street through all his homies and landed quite a way down the other side of the hill. That was the good part. The challenge that made him famous was after the initial touch down. Unfortunately for several people in the neighborhood and the rental agency, the mysterious, unnamed driver lost control and took out several garbage cans and two parked cars before abandoning his rented vehicle as undriveable. The car can be seen flying over the people standing around looking at it. It hits the asphalt and sparks fly. Loud, rattling sounds are heard on impact, followed by the shattering of breaking glass. The electric car skids into the distance, leaving debris all over the road. “I am glad to say, luckily, nobody was hurt,” wrote Choi, specifying that he wasn’t the one driving. Clips from the video have been going viral on social media since it was posted by automobile YouTuber Alex Choi on Sunday. Later in the video, Choi can be seen telling someone on the phone that the driver of the Tesla Model S had put a stray cat in his car, adding that the cat is fine. He was hosting a “Tesla drive,” where owners of different models of the car could join hands and drive in a Tesla fleet through the Echo Park. Police are offering a reward for the dare devil and the car owners would like to meet him as well.
Car driving excitement
What do you call a rental car in Spain?
A Barceloaner
I was pulled over in Massachusetts for reckless driving.
When brought before the judge, I was asked if I knew what the punishment for drunk driving in that state was. I said, “I don’t know… reelection to the Senate?”
A Texas bank robber who used a rental car as his getaway vehicle accidentally left all the
money in the back of the car when he returned it. The thief was in a hurry to get the car
back to the rental agency because he did not want to pay the late fee. The man was
arrested was charged with more than a late fee.
He died doing what he loved, checking his messages while driving.
