Take me out to the ball game

South Korean baseball fans have been shut out of the games that have just resumed live at stadiums around the country. “No live fans were allowed in, but we wanted to find a way to reward our faithful and create more interest. So, we thought about ways of giving back to fans and motivation to the players.” The NC “Dinos” stands were not empty, thanks to life-sized cardboard cut-outs made from pictures sent in by the fans. 60 fans sent in their own pictures, along with their favorite players or even their pets. “I can’t go into the stadium now, but my avatar is cheering the team instead of me. I can see me on TV. It feels like I’m in the stadium,” Han Dong-su, a 38-year-old baseball fan, said outside the stadium in Changwon.
