Bear Necessities

Bear Necessities

A pair of hunters in the Mississippi woods posted video of the moment a curious bear tried to join them up in their tree stand. Jordan Coopwood and Andrew Smith sat up in the tree stand waiting for deer when a pair of young bears showed up on the scene. The young bears smelled the “honeybuns” the guys were eating and quickly climbed the ladder to the tree stand. “He got two feet from my foot. I didn’t think to yell at him until he was in my lap,” Coopwood said. The bear quickly ran off when it was startled by the men yelling.

Two hunters were dragging their dead deer back to their car. Another hunter approached pulling his along too. “Hey, I don’t want to tell you how to do something … but I can tell you that it’s much easier if you drag the deer in the other direction. Then the antlers won’t dig into the ground.” After the third hunter left, the two decided to try it. A little while later one hunter said to the other, “You know, that guy was right. This is a lot easier!” “Yeah, but we’re getting farther from the truck,” the other added.

At the police station, Billy explained to the police officer why his cousins shot him. “Well,” Billy began, “We wuz havin’ a good time drinking, when my cousin Ray picked up his shotgun and said, ‘Hey, der ya fellows wanna go hunting?'” “And then what happened?” the officer interrupted. “From what I remember,” Billy said, “I stood up and said, ‘Sure, I’m game.'”

Gus, said Bill as he ran up to them on the way back to the camp. “Are all the rest of the boys out of the woods yet?’ “Yes,” said Gus. “All six of them?” “Yes, all six of them.” “And they are all safe?” asked Bill. “They are all safe.” “Then,” said Bill, his chest swelling, “I think I shot a deer.”
