Skiing on Garbage

Skiing on Garbage

What to do with the mountain of garbage? Copenhagen has come up with a new answer: ski down the mountain. Copenhagen’s main garbage facility is a futuristic building with a sloping roof 263 feet high that’s covered in a material called Neveplast. It looks just like a ski slope, after one or two runs, your mind is automatically adjusting so you feel exactly like skiing.” The plant will also burn waste from around 600,000 residents and 68,000 businesses to produce electricity and district heating. The skiing is open year-round.

You know there’s no official training for garbage men? They just pick it up as they go along.

“Has your son decided what he wants to be when he grows up?” I asked my friend. “He wants to be a garbageman,” he replied. “That’s an unusual ambition to have at such a young age.” “Not really. He thinks that garbagemen work only on Tuesdays.”
