Liam McNamara of County Clare, Ireland walked the Atlantic shore every day to find stuff. One morning he found a hard hat with markings from LSU and customized in their purple and gold. He posted a photograph of his find on his Facebook page, commenting that the owner must have been a fan of the LSU Tigers. A fan of his Facebook page had noticed an “IUOE Local 25” sticker on the hat. They then contacted the marine division of the International Union of Operating Engineers to return the hat. Ms. Bonnette contacted Liam and explained that her husband Matthew had lost the hat in the Mississippi river while he was at work in 2015.
