Spiders and Snakes and Croc’s, Oh My!
Most Americans think the Aussies are occupied making a living and avoiding angry kangaroos, but our friends in the land “downunder” are proving to provide their share of “outside the box behavior” among humans. Case in point: A high school teacher who allegedly identifies as a cat has been accused of ‘hissing’ at students and licking the back of their hands in class. The bizarre classroom behavior was witnessed by students at Marsden State High School in Waterford West in Queensland, AU. The allegedly female teacher is seen wearing a black and white cat ear headband in class and at school assembly in photos first obtained by the Courier Mail. Students allege the teacher asked to be referred to as ‘Miss Purr’ and wears a lanyard with the word ‘purr’ on it. A relative of one student claimed the teacher had hissed at them after they failed to answer a question or pay attention in class.
‘(The teacher) sits in class and licks her hands,’ the relative said. ‘It’s absolutely disgusting. ‘Something needs to be done about this.’ One parent offered: ‘(The teacher) sits in class and licks her hands. ‘It’s absolutely disgusting.” Another parent said they wanted their child to have teachers they can ‘look up to’ which ‘isn’t someone who wears ears’. One mum alleged the teacher made her daughter “purr for a lolly,” (a lollipop candy).
“She? … forces the children to call her Miss Purr and cat screeches and growls when they don’t listen,” one relative alleged in comments on Facebook. ‘How can a student respect a teacher acting and walking around with animal ears?’
“It’s more frustrating that the mainstream schooling, and education system we are sending our kids to every day has teachers doing things like this,” one parent told The Courier-Mail, adding their child “barks” at the teacher when walking past them. “I myself would like answers, it all could be innocent as I know a lot of kids can be overly dramatic,” she said.
The Department of Education said the school is ‘aware of parents’ concerns.’ A spokesperson for the Department of Education said the behavior “wasn’t acceptable in Queensland state schools.” “The school is aware of parents’ concerns and the principal has addressed the issue directly with the teacher,” a statement read. “Teachers are held to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.”…Just wait ‘til Trump gets there.
Feline funnies
My wife asked me if I’d seen the cat bowl…
I said I didn’t know he could.
A cat walks into a bar.
The bartender says, “What’ll you have?”
The cat says, “A shot of rum.”
The bartender pours the cat his drink.
The cat slowly pushes the shot off the table.
“Another.”
Jimmy was asked to feed the cat.
Jimmy asked, “To what?”
This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her cat.
It was obvious that she thought her cat could understand her.
I came to my house and told my dog. We laughed a lot.
