It was a wedding, just not mine
It was the big day in Java and the groom with his entourage followed the GPS to the place that the wedding was to be held. They arrived a little early and the bride’s family had already gathered. The shook hands, introduced themselves and gave the bride’s family gifts as is the tradition in that country. They even met the photographer and the woman’s family assumed the new arrivals were family members of the fiancé. The bride was having here makeup done and did not see the visitors immediately. Talking as they waited, things did not fit together. The bride did not recognize anyone and the group soon realized they were at the wrong place. This was an engagement party and the wedding they were supposed to be at was one click down the road. They took back their presents and left. The real fiancé and his group showed up a few minutes later after being delayed in transit trying to find a bathroom.
Wedding arrangements:
Son: “Is it true? Dad, I heard that in ancient China, a man doesn’t know his wife until he marries.”
Father: “That happens everywhere, son, EVERYWHERE!”
It is true that love is blind?
Because marriage is definitely an eye-opener.
After finishing our Chinese food, my husband and I cracked open our fortune cookies.
Mine read, “Be quiet for a little while.” His read, “Talk while you have a chance.”
Grooms, once you get married, remember that when you have a discussion with your future wife, always remember to get the last two words in: “Yes, dear.”
