Shocking Social Distance
Jonny McFadden, who runs the Star Inn in St. Just, England, had a problem. All the region’s farmers loved to come to his pub in the evening and stand around the bar sharing stories. Then the English authorities demanded social distancing. Jonny wanted to obey the law, but not get in fights with his customers. There was limited space in his bar so he deicided to put up a electric fence that allowed orders and payment but no hangers around. McFadden said he had struggled to get the social distancing message across to some customers in the bar because “when you serve people a drink they change”. Asked if it the fence was switched on, Mr. McFadden said: “Come and find out – there is a fear factor and it works.” The landlord said his customers were happy with the fencing and it had generated a lot of laughs.
Good Fences make Good Humor
So I walked past a wired fence today. Somebody from behind shouted: “Be careful, it might be electrified! If you touch it, you will get the shock of a lifetime!” I looked the person dead in the eye and without hesitation, I grabbed the fence to prove them wrong. My mother, who was walking next me immediately told me I was adopted.
My wife is furious at our shapely next-door neighbor who sunbathes naked in her back yard. Personally, I’m on the fence.
A person is walking down the street and hears a bunch of people in a fenced-in yard shouting, “19! 19! 19! 19!” Curious, he walks over and looks through a hole in the fence. Someone from the other side squirts him with the hose and they all start shouting “20! 20! 20!”
I finished installing an electric fence around the perimeter of my house yesterday.
The neighbors are dead set against it.
