Attack of the Hack back

What would you do if out of the blue, your computer was attacked by a foreign power? Most of us would not even know it was going on. One of us is not most of us. He was a computer security guy at a place that monitored security and helped companies keep their information safe. It turned out the North Koreans had come to his organization’s site to see if they could steal some cracking codes or find some new places to steal from. Our hero will be named “P4x” for now. His own system alerted him to the intrusion and good old P4 was able to keep the intruder from getting anything of consequence. He reported the incident to the federal government and waited. He got no response. No response from the NORKs or from the US government. This was an insult. P4 took it personally and decided to get his own revenge. “It felt like the right thing to do here. If they don’t see we have teeth, it’s just going to keep coming,” he said. After a year he was tired of waiting and decided to take revenge himself. So with his expertise he penetrated the NORK backbone and shut down the main NORK internet server. They put it back up and he took it down again. The entire NORK internet is pretty small, because they do not want their people to know what is going on, but P4 hit them a third time. After that he was bored and felt he had exacted his personal revenge. But as P4 confirmed in Wired magazine, his purpose is to mostly be annoying. He recognizes that the effect of his efforts is probably comparable to spray painting obscenities on the walls of government buildings. “I definitely wanted to affect the people as little as possible and the government as much as possible,” P4 said. “I just want to prove a point, and I want that point to be very squarely proven before I stop.”

Hacking Humor

So, the other day I started to whisper and my wife asked why I was whispering? I told her
I didn’t want Mark Zuckerberg to hear us.
I laughed. My wife laughed… Alexa laughed… Siri laughed.

If Bill Gates had a penny for every time I had to reboot my computer… oh wait, he does.
