Animals not ready for a plastic world

Do we have to retrain the animals or the people?

Over 30 people in Maharashtra’s Thane district in India joined hands to rescue a leopard which was spotted with its head stuck inside a plastic container. The search and rescue operation took about 48 hours to complete. The leopard cub, which is around a year old, had put its head inside the container to drink water and was unable to remove it. Local animal welfare charities had appealed for more information on the leopard after footage of the big cat running around with its head stuck in the plastic container went viral. Rescuers tranquilized the leopard with a dart. When the dart hit the leopard, it shuddered with such force that the plastic container came loose by itself. After two days spent without food or water, the cub was in a severely dehydrated state. It was moved to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park rescue center for treatment and will be released in the wild once it is better.

Animal rescuers in Britain were summoned to a resident’s garden to free a fox that got its head stuck in a watering can. The fox had apparently gotten stuck while searching for food or water in the garden. The RSPCA said rescuer Natalie Read was dispatched to a garden in Braiswick, England.  “She’d wedged herself between fencing at the bottom of the garden and must have been exhausted because I was able to catch her easily and carefully pry the can off her head. Thankfully she wasn’t injured and she was raring to go, so I released her and she bounded off back into the safety of the undergrowth,” Read said.

A wild crocodile with a motorcycle tire stuck around its neck for six years has finally been freed by an Indonesian bird catcher in a tireless effort that wildlife conservation officials hailed as a milestone Wednesday. The beast was seen on the city’s river with the tire around its neck becoming increasingly tighter, running the risk of choking her. In early January, 35-year-old bird catcher and trader Tili, who recently moved to the city, heard about the famous crocodile from his neighbors and determined to rescue the 15 foot long reptile. “I believe I can rescue the crocodile with my skills.” He stringed ropes of various sizes into a trap tied to a tree near the river, and laid chickens, ducks and birds as bait. After three weeks of waiting and several failed attempts, the crocodile finally fell into the trap Monday night. With the help of two of his friends, Tili pulled the trapped crocodile ashore and sawed through the tire, which was 19” in diameter. Government data recorded 279 crocodile attacks in Indonesia, despite the attacks, the saltwater crocodile is a protected species under Indonesian law.

Stuck on You

There were 3 moles were stuck living in a hole…
One day, they wake up to the smell of pancakes cooking. The first mole sticks his head out of the hole and says “I smell pancakes!” The second mole sticks his head out of the hole and says “I smell syrup!” The last mole tries to stick his head out of the hole, but gets stuck behind the other two, so he said, “All I smell is molasses.”

Why couldn’t the toilet paper cross the road?
It got stuck in a crack.

What do you call two birds stuck together?
Velcrows…

So, the other day I started to whisper and my wife asked why I was whispering? I told her I didn’t want Mark Zuckerberg to hear us.
I laughed. My wife laughed… Alexa laughed… Siri laughed.
