Wienermobility

The US economy has thousands of job openings this month, one of the most visible and prestigious new opportunity is going a-bun and beyond. Hot dog maker Oscar Mayer is recruiting a dozen drivers to take the wheel of its Wienermobiles. Measuring 27 feet long and 11 feet high — or 60 hot dogs long and 24 hot dogs high. Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles have been on the road since 1936. Wienermobilers will go on several cross country, promotional journeys so that Americans from coast to coast can relish in its joy. Driving and managing the Weinermobile pays about $35,600 annually with a weekly $150 stipend as well as paid time off and full health benefits.  Successful candidates, formally known as hot doggers, will be evaluated following a one-year assessment from their best and wurst moments after taking the roll in June. “It’s like they’re running a PR firm on wheels,” Ed Roland, who is in charge of the Wienermobile program told CNBC, comparing the hot (dog) rod to like life in an RV. The successful candidate will be visiting at least 40 cities across the country and attending hundreds of events.  “They’re key content contributors to all of our social media channels; They are some of the highest performing content for all of  Kraft Heinz.”

The job description is very frank. Oscar Mayer is searching for those with a bachelor’s degree and media relations experience to manage their fleet of six parallel porkers — workers are assigned out in pairs — to host pop-up events across the nation. There have been years with 7,000 applicants for the few spots on the grill. Social media skills are strongly preferred. A strong driving record along with a willingness to travel 20,000 miles across 40 cities is also necessary as is appearing on local broadcast outlets. Recent classes of Hotdoggers have opened many new stores and even helped introduce the first-ever hot dog-flavored popsicle. Hotels and other condiment costs are covered. “Statistically speaking, more people have visited space than driven the Wienermobile!” It is also harder to be accepted as a Hotdogger than to earn admission to Harvard university and you learn more real life skills.

Job requirements include pitching and appearing on local TV and radio, creating social media content for all platforms as well as coordinating your travel logistics and managing your travel expenses. “We take pride in welcoming the next class who will continue to uphold the tradition of sparking smiles and bringing buns of fun to fans across the U.S.” Applications are open now for this one-of-a-kind “Hotdogger” role, which is a one-year assignment from June 2024 – June 2025.

Hot dog Jokes:

A guy walks into a bar and sees a sign for the special of the day: hot dogs — regular, bun length, foot-long and colossal. “Give me two hot dogs,” the guy tells the bartender. “How long do you want ’em?” the bartender asks. “Oh,” the guy replies, “I thought I’d get to keep them.”

Did you see the movie about the hot dog at a picnic?
It was an Oscar Wiener.

What do you get when you put a chicken, a cow, and a pig together?
A hotdog.

How did the hot dog get a date?
He mustard up the courage to ask.
