Floating above it all

David Morris was walking along the ocean shore near Falmouth, England when he saw a transport ship floating in the air. Being sober at the time, he took a picture of the event just to prove his sanity. Actually, the folks walking the boardwalk in town had the same view. It was not a magician gone mad, but rather a case of a “superior mirage” that occurred because of “special atmospheric conditions that bend light”.  The illusion is common in the Arctic, but rare in the UK during winter. Because cold air is denser than warm air, it has a higher refractive index. This makes the ship appear in a higher position than it really is – in this instance, above the sea surface.” Superior mirages can produce a few different types of images sometimes an object below the horizon can become visible. This temperature inversion effect can cause images of the sky appear in the distance in the hot desert giving the illusion of water.

Illusionary Humor

I come from a family of failed magicians.
I have two half-sisters.

I almost had a girlfriend who was psychic, but she dumped me before we met!

My ex-boyfriend was a magician
We would be walking down the street and ”POOF”, he turns into a liquor store.

My girlfriend is threatening to leave me because of my obsession with optical illusions.
I told her, “Wait! This isn’t what you think it is!”
