You need a slap
Who needs a knife when you can break open a watermelon with the palm of your hand, if you do not mind the overspray? Well, not everyone can do that without hurting themselves in the process. But Spanish athlete Roberto Rodriguez certainly knows not only how to crack open a watermelon with just one slap, but he knows how to set a world record while doing it. In a clip shared by the Guinness World Record below, Roberto can be seen setting the world record on the set of the Italy-based TV special Lo Show Dei Re. As people hold watermelons up for him, he can be seen smashing them with an open hand as he travels up and down the line. Social media users wondered if his hand would sting after all that slapping and smashing. One YouTube user wrote, “If I were you, I’d rather not mess with this guy, not even watermelons are strong enough to hold his punches. Real life one punch man.” According to Guinness World Record official website, the official record title is ‘the most watermelons smashed with an open hand in one minute’ The record stands at 39.
Roberto might be strong and tough but how brave is he? It’s nothing compared to India’s Suresh P, who managed to endure getting 64 watermelons chopped open on his stomach in one minute (and lived to tell the tale). Suresh, a black belt holder, practiced for close to a year before using Suresh P’s midsection as a cutting board in 2020. Think you’ve got an iron stomach? Did you wince reading that? Here is a really tough guy: Antanas Kontrimas of Lithuania. What could be worse that having somebody break watermelons on your stomach? How about hanging a model from your beard? Of course the girl only weighed 140 pounds. He did it on the Turkish TV show ‘Rekorlar Dunyasi’ in Istanbul. It was a hairy challenge.
Not to cut this short, but finally here is a guy that has real eye-hand coordination: Milan Roskopf from Slovakia juggled three running chainsaws. The 50-year-old Roskopf broke his own previous record of 38 catches and throws to make 62 juggling throws and catches without stopping. Milan set the record at the 15th annual “Impossibility Challenger” outside Munich Germany. Go out and do greater things.
World Record Watermelon
“I wish I had the money to buy a million watermelons…”
“What will you do with a million watermelons?”
“I don’t want the watermelons, I just want the money.”
The watermelon is 50% water. The other 50% is melon.
I hold the world record for procrastination.
I can show you later if you want.
When do you start on red and stop on green?
When you’re eating a watermelon!
