Fast as lightning
Ivan Zaborovsky was warming up with his FC Znamya Truda soccer team on a field just outside Moscow on July 4 when the bolt of lightning landed in a direct-hit flash, sending a cloud of black turf pellets spraying making it appear as if he might have been vaporized. The 16-year-old goalkeeper has returned to the pitch less than three weeks after he took a direct hit captured on the scary video below. Coach Anton Basov rushed to his unconscious player and found him face down with the front of his jersey singed. Ivan was hospitalized and has no memory of what happened. However, he has a physical reminder: a burn mark on his chest from a necklace he had been wearing. “It was difficult to breathe, but that’s about it,” Ivan told Reuters. “It’s getting better and better now. Things are back to normal.” On Tuesday, he signed with his club’s senior team.
