Robo Doggy will get you

The city of Pompeii, Italy was having problems. People were coming in and stealing stuff.  Especially at night and even digging tunnels to get into the secret areas not open to the public. To make things worse, the buildings were falling apart and the ground was even caving in because of the tunnels that thieves had been digging to extract their loot. In fact, in many cases the tunnels and even the streets were so dangerous it was not safe to send a policeman to patrol or investigate. The city of roughly 20,000 people was buried under ash and pumice during the Mount Vesuvius eruption in AD 79 and has been undergoing excavations as far back as 1592. Digs were halted in 1960 after major projects left the remains of the site in decay.

If it too dangerous for men, but the bad guys are stealing everything piece by piece, day and night, Who you gonna call? Spot, the robot wonder dog. The Pompeii Archaeological Park called Boston Dynamics and brought in Spot to wander the streets day and night and even crawl into the tunnels of the criminals. The entire city area is about 98 acres, much of it fenced off from the public and in theory from the monument thieves. Spot can work day and night in all kinds of weather. He is light enough not to sink into the soft, undermined street and flexible enough to follow the thieves right into their crawl spaces and catch them in the act. Even better than a human watchman, Spot is sneakier and can take pictures of everything as he goes. His pictures from various angles also provide a great record of the condition of the buildings and provide a map for future exploration and reconstruction. Spot is programmable to patrol on his own or can be operated by a remote operator. So Spot just walks one of his routes around town, looks, listens, takes pictures and reports. He does not even need treats to be good.
