Honorable Unusual Bathrooms

The Japanese are famous for their bathroom creativity, automating the toilets particularly. The everyday Japanese mainly use the old-fashioned squat toilets which, to some westerners, are the most bizarre lavatories in the country. The country’s futuristic toilets get all the attention. On the subject of Japanese toilets, there is one undisputed expert. A young woman, named Maritomo, literally wrote the book on Japanese toilets titled Nippon no toire hoka (Japanese Toilets and More). Here are few of the best toilet stall designs:

Golden Toilet – Both the toilet and urinals are 18-karat gold. There are also dancing robots and women.

Garden Toilet (above) – Its glass stall walls are surrounded by green plants. There is an artistic beauty and subtlety to Japanese gardens. There are three types: Tea, Hill, and Dry. Each allows the viewer to appreciate the majestic splendor of nature.

Aquarium Toilet -A massive aquarium surrounds the toilet on three sides. The view is so spectacular that most guests forget to lock the door. As a result, the restaurant added a second locking door.

Olympic Ski Jump Toilet – If you dream of ski jumping this is the throne for you. Not only are the life size pictures on the walls of the view from the ski jump tower, but there are literally ski’s bolted to the floor that you can step into to get the full effect while seated.

Wall of Toilet Paper Toilet – The good news is that you’ll probably never find the toilet paper dispenser empty at the bathroom inside Momojirō restaurant in Kyoto. The owners decided to install 80 paper roll holders on one of the walls. The bad news: the view is terrible.

Toyota Toilet – if you are mechanically inclined, Ippūdō’s ramen restaurant in Toyota’s hometown has a bathroom stall with a wall covered with parts from a disassembled Toyota engine.

The Japanese also produce the most sophisticated toilets chocked full of electronic niceties along with heating and cleaning aids, but that is a story for another quip.

Bathroom April fooling

Dropped my phone in the bathtub. It’s syncing now.

I feel very strongly about graffiti in toilet cubicles
So I have signed a partition.

What do you call musical chairs with toilets?
Game of Thrones.

I walked in on a man using a solid gold toilet.
“Wow, How many karats is that, sir?”
“None, but there is a lot of corn.”
