Recue Dog rescues boy

Cheri Radlick’s voice cracked as she shared the story of her son, Jordan, and his dog- “Fred.” Jordan, is a 12-year-old seventh-grader has alopecia, that means: no hair, eyebrows or eyelashes. In elementary school, he had friends and sleepovers and participated in sports. When he got to middle school last year he was bullied, and when another teasing student took off his hat and threw it across the room, Jordan closed off to the world. Mom said he didn’t want to be around people and wouldn’t go outside or to school. Jordan was so depressed, she said, he wouldn’t leave his bedroom. She pulled him out of public school and enrolled him in an online school. She took him to therapy. A doctor recommended getting an animal.

“I can tell you from the minute Jordan got out of the car and he saw Fred, it was love at first sight,” Radlick said.” The Australian shepherd/lab mix had been neglected, crated 24 hours a day and had a skin condition and other medical problems with nails so overgrown they were curled under. Jordan nursed Fred, including helping with leg exercises. Now Fred is returning the love he was shown. helping Jordan live again. The 4-year-old, 90-pound pooch sleeps with Jordan and goes everywhere possible with him. “Fred has changed Jordan’s life so much. Jordan is thinking about joining a golf league,” his mother said, “and he may be ready to have friends again.” Fred’s arrival allowed her to avoid giving her son antidepressants at the young age of 11. “Fred is everything I’ve hoped for and more.”

Hairless humor

My friend went completely bald years ago, but he still carries a comb with him. He just can’t part with it.

An apple a day keeps the bully away,
If you throw hard enough.

A bald man marries a bald women
When they had a son, they named him Harry.

A boy once asked his mother why his father was bald.
His mother replied, “Well, that’s because your Dad thinks a lot!”
She smiled, pleased with the answer she had come up with.
The boy pondered this for a moment, then inquired, “Then why do you have so much more hair on your head?”

Maybe ‘Bald’emort became evil because…
…He wanted to get “hairy.”
